Preparing the Answering System

Caller's Recording Time

You can select "1 minute", "2 minutes", "3 minutes" or "Greeting only" for
the caller's recording time. Your phone comes from the factory set to
"3 minutes".
Use the base unit. Make sure the base unit is not being used.

•The line's current setting will be displayed.

•You can also select the recording time by
pressing (1) (1 minute), (2) (2 minutes),
(3) (3 minutes) or (0) (Greeting only).
Press (Save).

•A beep sounds.
•To program the other line, start again from step 4.
•To exit the programming mode, press
(STOP/EXIT).
•You can exit the programming mode any time by pressing (STOP/EXIT)
If you select "Greeting only" for the line(s), the unit will answer a call
with the greeting message, and then hang up. The unit will not record
any incoming messages for the line(s). When you turn the Answering
System on (p. 84), "Greeting only L1" or "Greeting only L2"
will display. For both lines "Greeting only" will display.
