the parallel interface or the serial interface. The printer auto-
matically senses the interface through which data is being sent.
When the computer uses the printer's parallel interface no
communication settings are required.
When the serial interface is used the DA300 Communications
menu settings must be configured to match the computer
settings. Configure the computer to use either the XON/XOFF or
DTR handshaking settings to communicate with the DA300. The
following sub menus are used to change the printer serial
communications. A. Baud Rate, B Parity, C. Word Length and D.
Line Termination.
NOTE: For DOS systems only: The MODE command must be entered
each time the computer is turned, or it can be put into the autoexec.bat file.
For Parallel: Type MODE LPT1:,,P and press Enter. "Infinite Retry On
Parallel Printer Time-Out" will appear on your computer's screen.
For Serial (at 9600 Baud, no parity, 8 bits, 1 stop bit and continuous retry
on all time outs): Type MODE COM1:9600,N,8,1,P and press Enter.
To verify that the computer and the printer are communicating, with the
