4.4.4 DRUM PROBLEMS

Cause
Master is wrapped
around the platen roller
and the tension roller.
Suction becomes weaker
as pieces of master
enter into the duct and
the vacuum fan.
The drum master sensor
gives incorrect detection.
Cause
Ink detection board not
working.
Broken ink detecting
pins.
Ink sticks to the base of
ink detecting pins.
Air is mixing in the ink
pack.
Defective ink pump
Mylar comes off from
metal and cloth screen.
The doctor gap in the
drum is too wide.
The bearing of drum
drive part comes off.

Solution
Replace the thermal head guide
with a stronger one.

Pull out the master feed tray, and
remove the broken pieces of
master.

Misfeeds)
Clean the drum master sensor with
a dry cloth or replace the drum
master sensor.
If the situation does not improve,
insert the washer under the sensor.

Solution
Make sure SP2-10 (ink detection) is
ON.
Clean the ink detecting pins.
Adjust the ink detection circuit.

Change the ink detection board.

Clean the ink detection pins. Then
attach the ink pipe cover. (

Flush out the air from the ink pack.
Caution: Don't remove the ink pack.
Adjust or replace the ink pump.
