Do not confuse the etched part number with the module part number, which has the prefix form
54-xxxxx-xx or 57-xxxxx-xx.
2
The 54-21213-01 (MS01L-AA) memory module can be used interchangeably with the 57-30735-02
(MS01-AA) module and can be used with the DECstation 5000 Model 100 as well as the Personal
DECstation but cannot be used with either the 2100 or 3100 models because of base system
hardware incompatibility.
Figure 10–1 and Figure 10–2 show how to identify the earlier 2MB module
versus the 8MB module.
On the 2-megabyte module, the etched part number (not the module part
number) is in the center of the top edge of the back of the module. (You
are looking at the back of the module when you see a notch in its lower-left
corner.)
