5.2 Connecting Your Workstation to a Network
To lock a sliding lock, use a flat-blade screwdriver to push the protruding
edge of the lock toward the center of the connector until it clicks into
place.

The procedure you follow to connect your workstation to an Ethernet network
depends on the kind of Ethernet network you have.
To connect to a ThickWire network, see Section 5.3.
To connect to a ThinWire network, see Section 5.4.
To connect to a Twisted-pair network, see Section 5.5.
You can also connect your workstation to additional Ethernet networks, or
to other kinds of networks, by using a TURBOchannel module. See the
TURBOchannel Options User's Guide for information on how to do this.

5.3 Connecting to a ThickWire Network

1. If the workstation software is running, shut it down: Type shutdown -h
now and press Return.
2. Turn off the system unit by pressing the 0 on the on/off switch on the back
of the unit.
