The Audio I/O Port and Multimedia
However, you may attach it to a telephone receiver cord (the cord that
connects the receiver to the base of the telephone).
All audio I/O port capabilities require the use of the XMedia Tools version 1.1
(or greater) software. This kit provides the means for application software
to make use of the I/O capability and also includes some sample audio
applications.
XMedia Tools also includes video as well as audio software. However, if you
only require audio capability, you can enable your audio hardware with XMedia
without requiring video hardware, just as you may enable video with XMedia
without requiring audio hardware.
In addition, several independent software vendors have announced application
and application-development products supporting DECmedia hardware and
making use of the XMedia Tools software.

All systems require the XMedia Runtime license and software to
operate audio applications.
The XMedia Tools Developer Kit and Runtime Kit require ULTRIX
/UWS V4.2-A and Motif 1.1. To use the on-line documentation,

runtime kit and the developer kit software plus on-line
documentation.
XMedia Tools Developer Kit - For subscribers to the
ULTRIX software consolidated distribution CD–ROM.
Contains developer kit software licenses and a compact
disc of audio clip art.
XMedia Tools Full Developer Kit - For customers who
do not subscribe to the ULTRIX consolidated distribution
CD–ROM. Contains developer kit software licenses,
software and on-line documentation on a TK50 tape, and
a compact disc of audio clip art.
