13.7 What to Do When the Powerup LED Indicator is Inactive

Sometimes the single powerup indicator of the Personal DECstation is itself
not working.
When the powerup indicator is inactive, it means one of the three following
parts are defective:
Power supply
CPU daughter card
System module
To determine if the power supply is defective, turn on the power supply and
place an Ethernet loopback connector (12-22196-01) on the Ethernet port
(shown as slot number 10 in Figure 13–3. The LED in the loopback connector
will glow when the power supply is generating correctly regulated DC power.
Meaning

console device: system is configured as a
server.
