3.8 Using the Workstation Software
Once you've entered your user name and password, you can begin using your
workstation software. When you're ready to conclude your session, choose Quit
from the Session menu in your session manager window.

3.9 Turning Off Your Workstation

To turn off your workstation:
1. If the workstation software is running, type shutdown -h now and press
Return. Note: You must be in ''superuser'' mode in order to shut down
the system. This requires that you obtain superuser privileges from your
system manager. Enter superuser mode by typing su, pressing Return, and
entering your password.
2. Turn off any devices connected to your workstation, such as printers,
modems, or external hard disks.
3. Turn off the system unit by pressing the 0 on the on/off switch on the back
of the system unit.
4. If necessary, turn off the monitor.
If the monitor gets its power through the system unit, it will go off
when you turn off the system unit.
If the monitor is plugged into a wall outlet, press the 0 on its on/off
switch to turn it off.
