Cache memory and RAID controller battery

Each RAID controller contains 256 MB of cache memory. It also contains a sealed,
rechargeable lithium ion battery that maintains data in the cache for up to three
days in the event of a power failure. The service life of the battery is 36 months,
after which time the battery should be replaced. For information about replacing the
battery, see "Replacing the cache battery in the RAID controller" on page 66.

Getting started

Use the following list to prepare a storage subsystem for installation:
1. Prepare the site to meet all area, environmental, power, and site requirements.
2. Move the storage subsystem and its rack cabinet to the site.
3. Remove the storage subsystem from its shipping container and check the

The DS400 storage subsystem contains two hot-swap power supplies. Each
unit is a self-contained power supply with three integral cooling fans, a
power switch, and two status LEDs.
