Chapter 8. DS400 storage subsystem controls and LEDs

This chapter describes the controls and light-emitting diodes (LEDs) on a DS400
storage subsystem.
See the DS400 Problem Determination Guide for LED indicator-to-FRU replacement
information.

Indication
Green
When this LED is lit, it indicates that the
storage subsystem is turned on. When
this LED is off, it indicates that dc power
is not present, or the power supply or the
LED itself has failed. A power LED is also
on the power supply.
Note: To remove all electrical power from
the storage subsystem, you must
disconnect the power cord from the
electrical outlet.
Blue
When this LED is lit, it has been remotely
lit by the ServeRAID Manager program
(running on the system that is the
management station for the storage
subsystem), to aid in visually locating the
storage subsystem.
Amber
When this LED is lit, it indicates that the
storage subsystem has a fault, such as in
a power supply or hard disk drive. When
this LED is flashing, it indicates that an
invalid hardware configuration is detected.
Note: If the fault LED is lit continuously
(not flashing), there is a problem with the
storage subsystem. Use the ServeRAID
Manager program to diagnose and repair
the problem. For more information, see
the Problem Determination Guide.
