The Async Port is not
configured correctly.

The Receive Carrier Frequency is
outside of the acquisition range.
The Transmit Carrier is
incompatible.
Modem is in Test Mode.
The switches may not be set in
the correct positions.
Possible Cause
There is a Hardware Transmit or
DSP Failure within the modem.
The Modem Tx Output Power is
within allowed tolerance. A solid
indication indicates a hardware or
programming failure within the
modem.
The Tx Oversample Clock PLL is
not locked. This alarm will flash
on during certain modem
parameter changes. A solid
indication indicates a hardware or
programming failure within the
modem.
The Tx Composite Clock PLL is
not locked. This can be caused if
the External Data Clock (TT) is
not at the same frequency as
what the Mod Data Rate is set for,
or if the External Clock is poor
DMD20 Universal Satellite Modem
Check that the Receive
Acquisition Range is adequate
for the possible system offsets
(setting the value to 30 kHz is a
standard value encompassing all
normal offsets). After
acquisition, the actual receive
frequency can be read from the
Front Panel.
Check that the Receive
Parameter Settings and match
those on the modulator.
Check the modem Front Panel
for yellow warning LEDs
indicating a Test Mode is
enabled. Self-Test or IF
Loopback disconnects the
Demodulator from the IF receive
input connector.
Call the Radyne ComStream
Customer Service Center for
information on setting switches
for correct configuration.
Action
Call the Radyne ComStream
Customer Service Center.
The Modem may need to be
replaced.
The Modem may need to be
replaced.
Remove the External Clock
Source from the modem. If it
does not, the Modem may need
to be replaced.
