Connecting the GBIC Module and the
Fibre Channel Cable to the Hub
The hub has 12 modular, gigabit-per-second user-configurable interface ports.
These 12 ports are compliant with the GigaBit Interface Converter, GBIC
specification. Standard GBIC Modules are hot-pluggable. To connect an
FC-AL to the hub, you will need to install a standard GBIC Module followed
by a Fibre Channel cable into one of the 12 ports. See the documentation
supplied with the module and the cable for detailed installation instructions. If
you need to obtain GBIC Modules or Fibre Channel cables, contact your local
Compaq Reseller or Authorized Compaq Service Provider. See the preface,
"About This Guide," for information on locating your nearest Compaq
representative.

you feel the module click into place. The module is keyed to prevent
you from inserting the module incorrectly.
CAUTION: To reduce the risk of damage to the equipment, do not use excessive
force when inserting the GBIC Module.
