If the unit will not be installed in a rack, you will need to attach the four rubber
feet provided in the shipping box. These feet stabilize the base of the unit and
minimize damage to any surface on which the unit rests.
Turn the hub over and install one rubber foot in each corner of the unit. After
the rubber feet are installed, you may place the hub on a flat, level surface and
connect the cables. See the section, "Connecting the GBIC Module and the
Fibre Channel Cable," later in this chapter.
