CYLINDER AND CYLINDER HEAD
INSTALLATION
Install the cylinder and cylinder head in the reverse order of
removal. Pay attention to the following points:
CYLINDER
• Thoroughly wipe off oil from the fitting surface of the crank-
case.
• Apply SUZUKI BOND to the crankcase as shown.
' 99000-31110: SUZUKI BOND "1215"
• Install the dowel pins into the crankcase and then install the
cylinder gasket 1.
Use a new gasket to prevent oil leakage.
• Apply engine oil to the sliding surface of the piston and cylin-
der bore.
• Hold each piston ring with the piston ring sections positioned
correctly and put it into the cylinder.
• Make sure that the piston rings are caught by the cylinder
skirt.
• Place the cylinder on the crankcase.
Do not drop the cam chain into the crankcase.
• Temporarily tighten the cylinder base bolt 2.
• Insert the cam chain guide end A into the recess B of the
crankcase securely.
• Fit the projection C of the cam chain guide in the groove D of
the cylinder.
Make sure that cam chain engages properly to the
cam chain drive gear.
