VALVE AND VALE SPRING

REMOVAL

1. Remove:
S Valve lifters 1
S Pads 2
NOTE:
Identify each lifter 1 and pad 2 position very
carefully so that they can be reinstalled in their
original place.
2. Check:
S Valve sealing
Leakage at valve seat ! Inspect the valve
face, valve seat and the valve seat width.
Checking steps:
S Pour a clean solvent a into the intake and ex-
haust ports.
S Check the valve seating.
There should be no leakage at the valve seat 1 .
3. Remove:
S Valve cotters 1
NOTE:
Attach the valve spring compressor 2 and at-
tachment 3 between the valve spring retainer
and cylinder head to remove the valve cotters.
