FRONT AND REAR BRAKE
2. Install:
S Pad shims
(onto brake pads)
S Brake pads
S Pad spring
Installation steps:
S Connect a suitable hose 1 tightly to the caliper
bleed screw 2 . Put the other end of this hose
into an open container.
S Loosen the caliper bleed screw and push the pis-
tons into the caliper with the finger.
S Tighten the caliper bleed screw 2 .
S Install the pad shims on the brake pad.
S Install the brake pads and pad spring.
NOTE:
S The arrow mark a of the pad spring must point in
the direction of the disc rotation.
S After installing the retaining clip, turn the retain-
ing pin so that the heads of the retaining clips
face towards the center of the brake pad spring.
3. Inspect:
S Brake fluid level
Refer to "BRAKE FLUID LEVEL INSPEC-
TION" in CHAPTER 3.
4. Check:
S Brake lever operation
A soft or spongy feeling ! Bleed brake system.
Refer to "AIR BLEEDING (HYDRAULIC
BRAKE SYSTEM)" in CHAPTER 3.
Rear brake
1. Remove:
S Brake pads 1
NOTE:
S Do not depress the brake pedal while the caliper
is removed.
S When pads replacement is required, also re-
place the pad spring and shims.
