FRONT AND REAR BRAKE
S Replace the pads as a set if either is found to be
worn to the wear limit a .
2. Install:
S Pad shims
(onto brake pads)
S Brake pads
S Pad spring
Installation steps:
S Connect a suitable hose 1 tightly to the caliper
bleed screw 2 . Then, place the other end of this
hose into an open container.
S Loosen the caliper bleed screw and push the pis-
tons into the caliper with the finger.
S Tighten the caliper bleed screw 2 .
S Install the pad shims 3 on the brake pad 4 .
NOTE:
The arrow mark a on the pad shim must point in
the direction of the disc rotation.
S Install the brake pads and pad spring 5 .
NOTE:
The longer tangs b of the pad spring must point in
the direction of the disc rotation.
3. Inspect:
S Brake fluid level
Refer to "BRAKE FLUID LEVEL INSPEC-
TION" in CHAPTER 3.
4. Check:
S Brake pedal operation
A soft or spongy feeling ! Bleed brake system.
Refer to "AIR BLEEDING (HYDRAULIC
BRAKE SYSTEM)" in CHAPTER 3.
