Improving Reading
Direct Marking (White Code on Black Background)
Try the following countermeasures for codes created using direct
marking.
Countermeasures
• Use the smoothing function in 0. Image Adjust/Filtering. The
smoothing function can be made even more effective by using 0.
Image Adjust/Filtering Retry.
• For Data Matrix reading in Normal mode, set Read DM (Nor-
mal)/Reading Settings (Manual)/Background Cut to medium
or strong.
• Change the setting in 0. Image Adjust/BGS Levels to increase
the lower limit of the BGS level (making the background uni-
formly black).
