REMOVING THE POWER SUPPLY CORD
Electrical Shock Hazard
Disconnect power before servicing.
Replace all parts and panels before
operating.
Failure to do so can result in death or
electrical shock.
1.
Unplug air conditioner or disconnect power.
2.
Remove the front cover from the unit (see
page 2-11 for the procedure).
3.
Lower the control chassis to access the
components (see page 4-2 for the proce-
dure).
4.
Disconnect the ribbed power supply cord
lead from mode switch terminal L2, and
the smooth lead from terminal L1 of the
mode switch.
5.
Remove the machine screw from one end
of the green ground wire at the control
chassis, and the screw at the other end of
the green wire at the chassis location near
the capacitor.
6.
Push the power cord strain relief out of the
control chassis mounting hole, and re-
move the power supply cord.

Connect green ground wire to ground
screws.
Failure to do so can result in death or
electrical shock.
NOTE: Be sure to reinstall the power supply
cord leads to the mode switch terminals L1
(smooth) and L2 (ribbed), and the ends of the
green ground wire to the chassis locations with
their machine screws. Also, be sure to reinstall
the strain relief on the power supply cord.
