7.31 Serial A type / Serial E type
4 Port Systems: SR3/4
MENU 31:- Serial A type
0= Output (SR-4), 1= Input (SR-3)
6 Port Systems: SR24/SR32/RM-6
MENU 31:- Serial E type
0= Output (Controller), 1= Input (Device)
Serial Port A on a SR-4 or Serial port E on a SR-24 may be configured as an Input from a controlling
device or an output to a controlled device.
Note 1. Serial A is connected as an input on the SR-3 and as an output on the SR-4 and SR-24, This
is set by links inside the unit.
Note 2. Serial E is connected as an input on the SR-24.
7.32 Locate with / without Preroll
MENU 32:- Locate with Pre-Roll
0= Yes, 1= No
This setting determines the behaviour of the Locate function when Auto-Record/Rehearse are not
enabled as follows:-
0= Yes
To locate with Pre-Roll: [Locate]
To Locate without pre-roll: [Shift] followed by [Locate]
1= No
To locate with Pre-Roll: [Shift] followed by [Locate]
To Locate without pre-roll: [Locate]
Note: Auto-Record/Rehearse always set to 0= Yes, locate will always locate pre-roll before the Record
In point and Shift followed by locate will locate the Record in Point
The Pre-Roll memory may be accessed using [Store] or [Recall] followed by [Reverse Play].
7.33 GP Outputs 4,5,6

0=GP, 1=Rec, 2=Tal, 3=Mcn, 4=Mas, 5=Rdr, 6=ADR
The SR has only 6 GP Outputs in total. The outputs are TTL and active high. The functions of GP
Outputs 4,5,6 are determined by this setting:-
0=GP
Scratch pad stores "Shift-1", "Shift-2", "Shift-3" are used as timecode coincidence detectors, the GP
Outputs are active when the master timecode is the same as the stored value. e.g. to fire GP Output
4 at 01:00:00:00, enter 01:00:00:00 to the keyboard display then [Store] followed by [Shift] followed
