The macro keys allow you to change the functions of some of the keys, or to rearrange the keys to
move the ones that you use most often closer together. It is very quick to re-define macro keys so that
keys may be redefined for one session only if required.
There are 12 macro keys on both the SR-4 and SR-24, these may be used for any of the macro
functions listed in section T1.00.
The standard Macros on installed on both the SR-4 and Sr-24 are:-
Bank, Reader, Feet, Generator, Auto-Rec, Rehearse, ID <-, ID->, Mark, Instant Replay, Again, Jog,
Shuttle

5.01 DEFINING A MACRO KEY

All the macro keys may be defined as any of the functions defined in the following lists, Where there
is a LED, the LED follows the function of the key.
1) Disable the macro protection Setup | Unit | Generic | Menu 26: Macro Protection
2) Look up macro key number from the list in the technical manual and type in the macro number.
3) Key in Shift followed by Store followed by the desired MACRO key.
4) Enable the macro protection.
Example:
To change the function of the FEET key to Generator key (Macro 118).
1) Type in 00:00:01:18 in the keyboard display.
2) Shift followed by Store followed by Feet.
3) The display should show:- Macro 11:00:01:18, the 11 is the macro key number as described
in the user file.
Then turn the paper label in the key over, write on the new function Gen and the macro number 119,
The key is now programmed with its new function until the next time you activate a hard reset.

5.02 READING A MACRO KEY

To read the Macro Function of any macro key enter the following sequence:-
Shift, Recall, followed by the macro key
Example
To read the Macro number for the Instant Replay key.
Shift followed by Recall followed by Instant Replay
The display should now show:-
Macro 17:00:01:21Macro key number 17, Macro number 121
The Macro key number will change from key to key, the Macro Number determines the function of the
key
5.03 Factory default MACRO KEYS
To install the Factory Default macros and parameters set Setup | Unit | Generic | Menu 26: Macro
Protection to 2= factory Default.

5.10 Some Useful Macro's

5.11 Shifter control :- Macro's 68, 69 and 70

The shifter is used as a temporary offset register and is added to the current offset. When the shifter
is active its value is displayed instead of the offset. The shifter offset may be made permanent by
using Store followed by Shifter Reset.

5.12 Instant Record :- Macro 74

Locate back by a user-determined time + pre-roll, play, lock and then record.
