3.10 MASTER MACHINE

When controlling a group of machines it is normal to consider one machine as the master the other
machines will slave to or chase the master. Commands to the group of machines are then sent to the
master machine.
To select a master machine use [SHIFT] followed by a machine key, only one serial port, the Reader,
or Generator may be selected as the master at any time, the selected master machine has the following
properties:-
1) RECORD and UN-RECORD commands to the master are sent to all group machines that are
record enabled.
2) When the timecode output is fitted, the timecode output will follow the selected master machine.
3) The master machine's position is used for automatic offset calculations MARK SYNC, or Shift
Offset.

3.11 CHASE (SLAVE) MACHINE

When chase is enabled on any machine the keyboard is modified as follows:-
1) Transport commands to any chase-enabled machine (Play, Stop, Wind, Shuttle, and Jog) are
redirected to the master machine.
2) RECORD and UN-RECORD commands are sent to all Record Enabled machines.
3) The LED's of all machines in the group will be illuminated.
4) The specified Master machine LED will flash to indicate the command redirection.

3.12 RECORD TRACK ENABLES

The [Bank] switch controls the eight red track enables. The current key assignment is shown in the
middle of the lower line of the display.
The current machine track assignment of each key may be determined by use Recall followed by the
selected track key. The display will then show the current Machine and track assignment:-M c : T r k

When system record readies are used (Record Bank Macro 66) Store followed by the selected track
key may be used to assign a machine track combination to a key.
