Assign roles to speakers
The speakers you connect to the television
can have more than one role. If, for example,
you only use one set of front speakers when
you watch TV on your television screen, you
can turn your chair ninety degrees towards a
projector screen and use those same speakers
as right front and rear speakers in a surround
sound system for Home cinema.
To assign roles to speakers ...
> Press TV to switch on the television.
> Press MENU to bring up the TV SETUP menu
and press to highlight OPTIONS.
> Press GO to bring up the OPTIONS menu and
press to highlight SOUND.
> Press GO to bring up the SOUND SETUP menu
and press to highlight SPEAKER ROLES.
> Press GO to bring up the SPEAKER ROLES menu.
> The SPEAKER ROLES menu appears.
> Press to highlight a speaker role. When you
highlight a speaker role, a sound is produced by
a speaker.
> If the role highlighted in the menu is correct for
the speaker producing the sound, press
on to the next role. Otherwise ...
> ... press or to select a new role for the
speaker producing the sound.
> Press GO to store or EXIT to leave the menu
without storing.

Assigning roles to the connected loudspeakers
allows you to specify the speakers' function in a
to go surround sound system and the number of
speakers to be used. Assign different roles for
watching TV (1) and Home cinema (2), as shown
in the illustration:

Speaker A: Left front
Speaker B: Right front
Speaker C: Off
Speaker D: Off
Speaker E: Right back
Speaker F: Left back
Speaker G: Off
Home cinema viewing (2) ...
Speaker A: Right front
Speaker B: Right surround

Speaker D: Left back
Speaker E: Left surround
