CYLINDER HEAD/CYLINDER/PISTON
DECARBONIZING COMBUSTION
CHAMBER
Remove the carbon build-up from the combustion
chamber using a scraper as shown.
NOTE:
Do not scratch the combustion chamber wall
and cylinder mating surface.
CYLINDER/PISTON
C Y L I N D E R REMOVAL
Pull the cylinder up and off being careful not to let
the piston get damaged.
CAUTION:
Do not pry between the cylinder and crank·
case or strike the fins.
Place a shop towel into the crankcase around the
piston.
Remove one piston pin clip and press the piston pin
out of the piston.
NOTE;
• Do not damage or scratch the piston.
• Do not apply side force to the connecting
rod.
•
Do not let the clip fall into the crankcase.
