ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT
ALTERNATOR I NSPECTION
NOTE:
This test can be made without removing the
stator from the engine.
Remove the frame center cover (Section
Disconnect the stator wire ooupler.
Measure the resistances between the terminals as
follows:
Yellow and engine ground
White and engine ground
NOTE:
Measure the resistances in the
Alternator removal/instal l ation (Page 7-2, 7-4).
RESISTOR I N SPECTION
Remove the frame center cover (Section
Measure the resistance between the resistor wire
lead and any body ground.
RESISTANCE: 6.7 .Q
NOTE:
A faulty or poorly grounded resistor can be a
frequent cause of a blown headlight.
R E G U LATOR/RECT I F I E R INSPECTION
Remove the frame center cover (Section 1 1 ) .
Disconnect the regulator/rectifier coupler.
Remove the regulator/rectifier by removing the
attaching bolt.
