4.8.3 MODU (Modem Function Unit)

Description
The MODU, which is shown in
supporting Bell, ITU-T, V.34, V.32BIS and V.90 protocols at baud rates of 300bps up to
33Kbps with automatic rate negotiation. The MODU has one connector for installation on
the CN4 connector on the KSU MBU. There are no switches or LEDs located on the
MODU.

4.8.4 MG-CMU4 (Call Metering - 50Hz/12KHz/16KHz Unit)

Description
The MG-CMU4, as shown in
CO lines. The CMU circuitry detects call metering and signaling information sent from the
PSTN at 50 Hz, 12 KHz, or 16 KHz. The MG-CMU4 has four (4) circuits each connects to a
separate CO line. MG-CMU4 can be installed on the CN8 and CN9 connectors of the KSU
MBUA, KSU MBUAD or the EKSU EMBU to support the built-in CO lines. The CMU4 is
installed on connectors CN790 and CN791 of optional Interface boards with analog CO
lines including the CH204, CH408 and CS416.
