1.1 BATTERY

The scanner is powered by two AAA Alkaline batteries. For intensive data collection, you
may prepare spare batteries for non-stop operation.
Note: The 1660 scanner can be configured to save battery power. Refer to settings of
"Auto Power Off &
Power-Saving",
"Sniff
Mode", as well as
"Low Battery
Alarm".

1.1.1 HOW TO OPERATE THE SCANNER

Turn on the scanner...
Press the [Power/Delete] key for about 2 seconds. The scanner will respond with a long beep (high
tone), and its LED indicator will become solid red and go off quickly.
Turn off the scanner...
Press the [Power/Delete] key for about 2 seconds. The scanner will respond with two short beeps
(high tone) and the LED will finally become solid red. Release the key then. Otherwise, let the
scanner turn off automatically in specific circumstances.
Delete the last collected data when in memory mode ...
Press the [Power/Delete] key. The scanner will respond with two short beeps (high tone) and the
LED will become solid red. Before the LED goes off (within 1 second), press the [Power/Delete]
key again to confirm the deletion.
