ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE PEDAL GROUP

BRAKE PEDAL INSTALLATION

1. From the top side of the floorboard, insert the brake pedal assembly (10) (Figure 5-1, Page 5-2 or
Figure 5-2, Page 5-3) through the opening in the floor as shown (Figure 5-3, Page 5-4) and install the
brake pedal stop bumper (24) (Figure 5-1, Page 5-2 or Figure 5-2, Page 5-3) on the brake pedal
assembly, but do not tighten the jam nut (25) at this time.
2. Secure the equalizer rod(s) (14 and 36) to the brake pedal assembly (10) with clevis pin(s) (16) and bow-
tie pin(s) (15) as shown (Figure 5-1, Page 5-2 or Figure 5-2, Page 5-3). Tighten to 17 in-lb (1.9 N·m).

NOTE: On two-wheel brake vehicles, the equalizer rod is secured to the left (driver-side) channel on the
brake pedal weldment.
For Turf 2 and Carryall 2 vehicles with four-wheel brakes and Carryall 2 Plus vehicles, there are
two equalizer rods. The long rod (21-1/4 inches (54 cm)) is secured to the left (driver-side) channel,
and the short rod (9-1/4 inches (23.5 cm)) is secured to the right (passenger-side) channel on the
brake pedal weldment.
On Turf 6 and Carryall 6 vehicles, there are two equalizer rods. The long rod (42-1/4 inches
(107.3 cm)) is secured to the left (driver-side) channel on the brake pedal weldment, and the short
rod (9-1/4 inches (23.5 cm)) is secured to the right (passenger-side) channel on the brake pedal.
3. Position and attach brake pedal assembly, mounting blocks (26), and washers (27) to vehicle frame as
shown. Tighten the bolts (28) and nuts to 113 in-lb (12.8 N·m) (Figure 5-1, Page 5-2 or Figure 5-2,
Page 5-3).
4. Adjust the pedal group. Refer to the appropriate adjustment procedure:
• For gasoline vehicles, see Pedal Group Adjustment – Gasoline Vehicles on page 5-11.
• For electric vehicles, see Pedal Group Adjustment – Electric Vehicles on page 5-16.
