    General Information GENERAL INFORMATION This manual features three Turf utility gasoline models: the Turf 1, Turf 2, and Turf 6. Throughout this manual, important features unique to each model are highlighted. We urge the owner/operator to read and understand this manual, and to pay special attention to the features specific to their vehicle(s).
  • Page 15 WARD) to operate the vehicle in the forward direction, or towards the passenger (REVERSE) to operate the vehicle in reverse. When the handle is in the straight up position (NEUTRAL), the vehicle will not run. Club Car vehicles operate at reduced speed in reverse. The reverse buzzer will sound as a warning when the Forward/ Reverse handle is in REVERSE.
  • Page 16 Controls and Indicators ACCELERATOR PEDAL The accelerator pedal is the pedal on the right, with the word GO molded into it (Figure 5) . The operation of the accelerator pedal differs from that of an automobile. When the key switch is ON, and the Forward/Reverse handle is in either FORWARD or REVERSE, depressing the accelerator pedal will automatically release the park brake and start the vehicle moving in the direction selected (forward or reverse).
  • Page 17 The choke is located on the seat support panel below and to the left of the driver’s left knee. If the vehicle is hard to start in cool or cold temperatures, activate the choke: • Turf 1: Depress the choke cover. Hold the choke cover in during start-up and release it after the engine starts and runs smoothly (Figure 10) .
  • Page 18 Controls and Indicators LOW OIL WARNING LIGHT The vehicle is equipped with a low oil warning light, located on the dash panel just above the steering column (Figure 12) . If the warning light comes on, oil should be checked and added to the engine as necessary before continuing to use the vehicle.

    Pre-Operation and Daily Safety Checklist PRE-OPERATION AND DAILY SAFETY CHECKLIST Each Club Car vehicle has been thoroughly inspected and adjusted at the factory; however, upon receiving your new vehicle(s), you should become familiar with its controls, indicators, and operation. Carefully inspect each vehicle to ensure that it is in proper working condition before accepting delivery.

    Driving Instructions • Governor: Check maximum speed of the vehicle. Turf 1 and Turf 2 vehicles should operate at 12-15 mph (19-24 km/h) on a level surface. The Turf 6 vehicle should operate at 14-16 mph (23-26 km/h) on a level surface.

    Read DANGER and WARNING on page 7. Turf 1 and Turf 2 vehicles are equipped with a bed latch on the driver side of the vehicle as standard equip- ment (Figure 13). To lift the bed, pull the latch handle toward the rear of the vehicle and lift the bed.

    Loading and Unloading The Turf 2 vehicle is equipped with an automatically engaging prop rod and prop rod track on the driver side of the rear body (Figure 14). When pulling the bed latch handle and lifting the bed, the prop rod will come to rest in one of the notches in the prop rod track.

    Because towing another Club Car vehicle or trailer can have adverse effects on vehicle handling, be espe- cially cautious when towing with a Club Car vehicle. See the preceding chart for vehicle capacities.

This will prevent further damage to the vehicle and avoid the possibility of injury due to unsafe conditions.
