possible might appear when you try to add a printer using IPP-SSL under Windows Vista/7 or
Windows Server 2008/2008 R2. To enable authentication from the client computer, install the
intermediate certificate on the client computer, and then reestablish connection.
• Intermediate certificates cannot be installed on this printer.
• To print via IPP-SSL, use the SmartDeviceMonitor for Client port.

Close all applications except this manual.
2.
Open the window for configuring printers. For details, see your operating system's Help.

Click [Add a printer] or double-click the [Add Printer] icon.
Under Windows Vista/7, and Windows Server 2008, proceed to step 5.

Click [Next].

Select the [A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer] check box, and
then click [Next].
Under Windows Vista/7, Windows Server 2008, click [Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer],
and click [The printer that I want isn't listed].

Select [Browse for a printer], and then click [Next].
7.
In the [Printer:] or [URL:] box, enter "http://(printer's IP address or host name)/printer (or
ipp)" as the printer's address, and then click [Next] or [Select].
8.
Click [Have Disk...].
9.
Insert the provided CD-ROM into the computer's CD-ROM drive.
If the [AutoPlay] window appears, click the [Close] button.
10.
Click [Browse...], and then specify the location of the INF file.
If the CD-ROM drive is D, the source files of the printer driver are stored in the following locations:
• PCL 5e
D:\DRIVERS\PCL5E\XP_VISTA or x64\(language)\DISK1
• PCL 5c
D:\DRIVERS\PCL5C\XP_VISTA or x64\(language)\DISK1
• PCL 6
D:\DRIVERS\PCL6\XP_VISTA or x64\MUI\DISK1
• PostScript 3
D:\DRIVERS\PS\XP_VISTA or x64\MUI or (language)\DISK1
If the file path of the printer driver contains the word "MUI", the driver will be installed in the language
of the operating system.
The PostScript 3 printer driver with the selected language will be installed. The English printer driver
is installed when the following language is selected: Suomi, Magyar, Cestina, Polski, Portugues,
Russian.
