To remove the key from the
transmitter, press the button
near the bottom of the
transmitter and pull the key
out.
Always press the button before
pulling the key out of the
transmitter.
See "Keyless Access System"
later in this section for more
information.
Note that there is no lock cylinder
for the trunk or for the passenger's
door.
NOTICE
Theft prevention features can
make it difficult to get into your
vehicle if you lose your
transmitters and/or key. To get
in, you may even have to
damage your vehicle. Be sure
you have a spare transmitter
and/or key.
Section 3
Immobilizer
Your vehicle is equipped with a
passive theft deterrent system.
If your vehicle has a removable
ignition key, the ignition key has a
transponder imbedded in it. The
transponder uses a radio
frequency that matches a decoder
in your vehicle.
If your vehicle is equipped with
an ignition control knob, the
immobilizer is part of the keyless
access transmitter.
See "Immobilizer" later in this
section for more information.
