Engine oil
Engine oil is identified b y its quality and
also its viscosity. Quality is m ore important
than viscosity when selecting w hich engine
oil to use.

O pel engine oil meets classifications
GM-LL-A-025 and GM-LL-B-025 and is
therefore suitable for both petrol and
diesel engines.

The above specification is valid only if the
service interval is reduced to that shown for
the internationa l service schedule -
see p ages 211 to 214.
Topp ing up engine oil
O ils of different m anufacturers and bra nds
can b e m ix ed as long as you comply with
the specified eng ine oil criteria (q uality and
viscosity ).
N ot every engine oil ava ila ble on the
ma rk et m eets the quality requirements,
alway s check the req uired specification
and ra ting is m arked on the container.
If engine oil of the required quality is not
av ailable, a max imum of 1 litre of AC EA
A3/B4 or A3/B3 grade ma y be used (only
once between each oil change). The
viscosity should be of the correct rating.
Use of ACEA A1/B1 and A5/B5 engine oil is
expressly forbidden, since they can cause
long-term engine damage under certain
operating cond itions.
