Self-help, vehicle care
Check diesel fuel filter at shorter interva ls if
the v ehicle is subjected to extrem e
opera ting conditions such as hig h humidity
(primarily in coastal areas), extrem ely high
or low outside temperatures a nd
sub stantially v arying day tim e a nd nig ht-
time temp eratures.
If there is water in the diesel fuel filter,
N
control indica tor
illuminates in the
instrument panel - see p age 73. Drain the
water immediately .
Coo lant
During operation, the system is
pressurized. The temperature ma y
therefore rise to over 100 °C.
The antifreeze p rov id es excellent corrosion
protection for the cooling and hea ting
sy stem, as well as freeze protection down
to -28 °C .
Certain ty pes of antifreeze c an lead to
engine d amage. We therefore strongly
recommend the use of antifreeze that has
been approved by Opel.

Warning
Antifreeze is a d ang er to health: it must
therefore be k ept in the original conta iner
and out of the reach of children.
Antifreeze and cor rosi on p rotection
Before the start of the cold weather season,
ha ve the coolant checked for correc t
concentration by a workshop. The a mount
of antifreeze m ust provid e p rotection down
to approx. –28 ° C. I f the antifreeze
concentration is too low, this reduces
protection from freez ing and corrosion.
Top up antifreez e if necessary .
If coolant loss is top ped up with
demineralised water, have antifreez e
concentration checked and m ore
antifreeze added as necessary .
C ool ant level
Hard ly any losses occur since the c ooling
system is sea led a nd it is thus rarely
nec essary to top up the coola nt.
The coolant level in the expansion ta nk
should be b etween the MIN and MAX
ma rk s w hen the system is cold .
