Self-help, vehicle care
Waxing
Wax y our vehicle regularly, in particula r
after it ha s b een washed using
Ca r Shampoo and at the latest when w ater
no long er forms beads on the paintwork,
otherwise the paintwork will dry out.
Also w ax aluminium trim pa rts, edges and
folds on opened doors and flaps as w ell as
the a reas they cover.
Polishing
Polishing is necessary only if the paint
has bec om e d ull or if solid deposits have
become attached to it.
Paintwork polish w ith silicone forms
a p rotective film , mak ing waxing
unnecessary.
Plastic body p arts should not b e treated
with wax and polish.
Use M etallic Paintwork Wax on v ehicles
with a m etallic-effect paint finish.
Wheels
Use a p H-neutral wheel clea ning a gent to
clean the wheels.
Av oid using a brasive ma terials and
brushes that can d amage the finish.
Wheels are painted a nd can be treated
with the sam e agents as the body . For a lloy
wheels, we recommend the use of Alloy
Wheel Preserv er.
Pa intwork dam age
Repair small areas of paint dam age such
as stone im pacts, scratches etc.
immed iately, using an O pel Touch-up
Ap plicator or Opel Sp ra y and Touch-up
Pa int b efore rust can form. I f rust has
already form ed, have the cause remedied
by a workshop. Please also pay attention
to surfaces and edges beneath the vehicle
where rust m ay have formed unnoticed for
some time.
Tar spot s
Tar spots must not be removed with hard
objects, but instea d immediately cleaned
off with Tar Removal S pray. Do not use
Tar Removal Spray on headlamp and
other exterior lam p bezels.
Exterior lamps
Headlamp and other protective la mp
bezels are mad e of plastic. I f they require
add itional cleaning after the vehicle has
been wa shed , clean them w ith
C ar Shampoo. Do not use any abrasive or
caustic agents, do not use an ice scraper,
and d o not clean them dry.
