Creating a New Database

Follow the steps below to create a new database. The database will be saved in dBASE III file
format (*.dbf). For additional help in creating a database, refer to Lesson 2 - Creating a
Database and Mail Merge.
Database fields can only be inserted on the Master tab.
A project must be open and the Master tab must be active or the database tools will not be

Select Database > New. The Create New Database dialog box appears.

Click 1. Set Database Name. The Save dBASE Database As dialog box appears. Select or

create the directory where the file is to be saved, name the file, and click Save.
