Rotary Torso User's Guide

The Rotary Torso targets the internal and external obliques, with a lesser
degree of emphasis on the rectus abdominis muscle. These muscles are
fundamentally involved in rotational movements and force transfer across the
body. Real life examples of the rectus abdominis muscle in action range from a
baseball pitcher throwing a ball to shoveling snow.
Setup
Number Action
Select an appropriate weight.
Sit with your back against the pads.
Select your starting position (left or right).
Place your elbows on the outside of the roller pads and grasp both
handles.
Gently grip the support pad with your knees.

Action
While bracing your upper body with your arms and hands, rotate in the
desired direction using a slow, controlled motion.
Pause at full contraction.
Slowly return to the start position.
Repeat the exercises in the other starting position.
Training Tips
Use a lighter weight and higher repetitions for this exercise.
Maintain a loose grip on the handles while training.
Maintain a neutral spine and engage your abdominal muscles prior to each
rotation.
