AUTO CHOKE UNIT CHECK

1. Remove:
®Auto choke unit
2. Measure:
!_i
• Starter plunger height (_)
Plunger height will not change with the
temperature change-_ Replace.
Plunger height measurement
steps:
oFreeze auto choke unit to -5°C
(23.5°F) in
freezer.
oMeasure plunger height at -5°C
(23.5°F).
_Take auto choke unit out of freezer and after
about 30 minutes, again measure plunger
height at room temperature.
*If both measurements are the same, auto
choke unit is defective.
Replace it. For
reference, below is a table of plunger heights
at respective temperature.

16.1+0.3 mm (0.63+0.01 in)
10°C (50.5°F)
17.8±0.3 mm (0.70+0.01 in)
20°C (68.5°F)
18.8+0.3 mm (0.74±0.01 in)
30°C (86.5°F)
19.7+0.3 mm (0.78±0,01 in)
40°C (104.5°F)
20.1±0.3 mm (0.79±0.01 in)
NOTE:
In the above table, auto choke was first freez-
ed to
-5°C
(23.5°F)
and then
the
measurements were made at while the
temperature was raised gradualy.
