Synapse differs from conventional telephone systems in that calls are not coordinated by a central controller. Instead, Synapse uses a distributed control system over a Local Area Network (LAN). Figure 1 illustrates a sample system.

The Deskset screen displays one call at a time. You can access each call by pressing a Call Appearance or Line Appearance key.

    UTGOING ALLS The SB67020/025 Deskset provides several methods for making a call. If you are in Idle mode or have calls on hold, you can predial a phone number and then go off hook to call the number. You can make a call at any time by choosing an off-hook method, then dialing a number.

    Call capacity reached. Call Management Using a Headset You can use a corded or cordless headset with the SB67020/025 Deskset. A corded headset can be plugged into the headset jack on the back of the Deskset. The cordless headset must provide its own wireless radio in a base that is plugged into the headset jack.
