In order to test the interface between camera and framegrabber, a 10bit LFSR (linear feedback shift
register) with a "many-to-one" feedback structure has been implemented [SMITH00]. For a
maximum sequence length of 1023 states, an XOR feedback at tap 2 and 9 was implemented
(VHDL implementation, see below). The state 0 does not exist in this implementation. The
sequence starts with the value 1 at the beginning of every line. The first 256 are shown in Table
16. The result is a pattern of vertical stripes in the captured picture. (See Figure 32: Captured
picture with active 10bit LFSR.)
