Preparing Cartridges for Use

The MiniLibrary system comes with one DLT tape cartridge and one cleaning
cartridge.
IMPORTANT: The MiniLibrary system accepts only CompacTape III, CompacTape IIIXT,
and CompacTape IV cartridges. For best performance, use CompacTape IV cartridges in
the MiniLibrary system. Do not use CompacTape I or CompacTape II cartridges.
NOTE: To order additional tape cartridges, contact you Compaq authorized dealer or
reseller.

Applying Bar Code Labels

Before placing a cartridge in the MiniLibrary system, you must apply a bar
code label that uniquely identifies it to the MiniLibrary system. When
applying the bar code label:
1. Use only the labels provided with the MiniLibrary system.
2. Apply cleaning cartridge labels only to cleaning cartridges; apply data
labels only to data cartridges.
3. Apply the label 1 to the front face of the cartridge as shown in Figure
F-3.
