NSTALLING THE
500- 2
SHEET ND
(Order No.1801)
The optional 500-sheet 2nd Cassette can be used for
increasing the overall paper capacity of the printer and for
print jobs that require printing on many envelopes.
To install the 500-sheet 2nd Cassette:
1. Turn the printer off.
2. Remove all cables (A).
3. Assure there is plenty of room around and above the
printer to work. Remove the 500-sheet 2nd Cassette from
its packaging.
4. Put the 500-sheet 2nd Cassette next to the printer.

note:
The Operator Panel and the
Properties Window for each printer
driver refers to the 500-sheet 2nd
Cassette as Tray 3.
5. Keeping the printer level, lift the printer up and onto the
500-sheet Cassette as shown (B).
6. Reconnect all cables.
7. Turn on the printer (C).
8. Assure "READY" appears on the Operator Panel display.
9. If you are using the Windows PostScript printer driver,
open the properties window for the driver, view the Device
Options (if using Windows 98 or 98) or Device Settings
(if using Windows NT 4.0), and assure that the optional
cassette is selected.
10. Confirm the installation by printing a printer
configuration page as described on page xx.
