Watching
Closed
Captioning
The Captioning
feature lets you display the
audio portion of a program
as text on the TV
screen.
This is useful to the hearing impaired
or anyone who wants to watch a program
without
sound.
Closed Captioning
is not available
on all
channels
or at all times.
Only specific
proj_ams
encoded with Closed Captioning
(CC) information
are applicable.
In certain Cinema modes, you may not be able
to see all or any Closed Captioning
because of
the picture expansion.
Adjust
Closed
Captioning.
A. Press -IV to set the remote to control the
TV.
B. Press MENU to bring up the main menu.
C. Highlight
Captioning
using the up and
clown arrows on the remote.
These arrows
are also shown on the screen.
D. Press 8 to select the Captioning
menu.
E. Select when you want to use Captioning
from the choices below:
NEVER
-
Leaves Captioning
off.
ALWAYS
-
Always displays
Captioning
when available.
CAPTIONING
ON MUTE
-
Displays
captioning
when Mute is turned on
instead
of sound.
Captioning
Modes
Select C1 for translation
of the primary
language
in your area.
Select C3 for captioning
information
usually
of secondary
languages,
simplified
English or
other translations
transmitted
in your area.
C2 or C4 carry Closed Captioning
but not
necessarily
in the same time frame as the
sound from the program.
Several second
delays are typical for these modes.
Text
Modes
T1, T2, T3, and T4 display on-screen boxes
containing
the text of information
not
necessarily
related to the program
being
watched.
These Text Modes may not be
available
in all areas.
