Adjusting
the
Equalizer
Adjusting
the equalizer
is a matter of personal
preference.
The adjustments
allow certain
characteristics
of the audio to be changed
without
affecting others.
Follow the directional
buttons
on the screen
to adjust the equalizer.
A. Press MENU to bring up the Main Menu.
B. Highlight
Audio using the up and down
arrows on the remote.
C. Press 8 to select the Audio Menu.
D. Highlight
Equalizer.
Press 8 to select the
equalizer.
E. Press the left and right arrows
to highlight
the band you want to adjust,
F. Use the up and down arrows to raise or
lower the amplitude.
G. Press 3 to exit.
60 Hz
Gives low bass sounds
more or less
impact.
This area is where many
systems
and/or
programs
are weak.
Increasing
this control overcomes
such deficiencies.
150 Hz
Affects the loudness
of bass
Increasing
the control gives the bass
more punch, lowering
it reduces
booming.
400
Hz
Affects the fullness of some
instruments
and lower vocals.
Increasing
this control adds fullness
to these sounds,
reducing
it makes
them sound thinner.
1KHz
Strongly
affects the presence
of
vocals and most instruments.
Increasing
this control can help
project these sounds
or make a
vocalist easier to understand.
2 KHz
Strongly affects the harmonics
of
voices and some in,;truments.
Increasing
this control will project
mos: instruments
and vocals.
Reducing
it allows more subtle
sounds in other ranges to be
heard.
4.5 KHz
Affects harmonics
of voices and
in st[uments,
particularly
brass
and strings.
Increasing
this control
n2akes these instruments
and
vocals sharper.
Reducing
it
controls lispy vocals or shrill
ir.stmments.
10 KHz
Affects the highest,
most delicate
harrnonics
of instrcments
such as
strings and the overall sound of
ol:h_rs such as cymbals and drum
sna:tes. Increasing
this control
b::ings out crispness
in cymbals
and sweetness
in strings
and gives
the music atmosphere.
Reducing
it c¢mtrols extra noise and hiss.
