To disable an unused system port:
1. Restart the system and start the BIOS Setup program.
2. On the Advanced/Peripheral Configuration screen, select the port you want to disable.
3. Change the value of the setting to Disabled.
4. Save the changes and exit from the BIOS Setup program.
The following expansion cards require specific system resource settings, as noted:
Expansion card
First modem (Windows NT)
Second modem (Windows NT)
First parallel printer adapter
Second parallel printer adapter
On a system running Windows 95 or Windows 98, ensure the following system resources are
set as noted:
