A.1.3 XON/XOFF
When XON/XOFF control is selected, the printer transmits XON or XOFF signals as follows.
Transmit timing differs depending on the memory switch 1-3 setting.
Signal Printer status
XON 1) When the printer goes online after turning on the power (or reset
using interface)
2) When the receive buffer is released from the buffer full state
3) When the printer switches from offline to online
4) When the printer recovers from an error using some ESC/POS
commands.
XOFF 5) When the receive buffer becomes full
6) When the printer switches from online to offline
A.1.4 Code
The XON/XOFF codes are shown below.
❏ XON code: <11>H
❏ XOFF code: <13>H
Note:
When the printer goes from offline to online mode and the receive buffer is full, XON is not transferred.
When the printer goes from online to offline mode and the receive buffer is full, XOFF is not transferred.
When memory switch Msw 1-3 is off, XON is not transferred as long as the printer is offline even if a
receive buffer full state has been cleared.
