Integrating With Remedy
To set up the shell script, complete the following procedures in the sequence
shown:

Create a Schema

Create a Macro

Test the Macro
Test the Script
NOTE:
See your Remedy documentation if you need help completing these
procedures.
Create a Schema
Use the following guidelines to create a schema that enters information about
DEFINITY G3 alarm conditions into the AR System database.
Use the AR System Administrator Tool (aradmin).
Name the schema DEFINITY_Alarms, or something similar.
Include fields for the following information:
— A map object ID
— The current object state
— The previous object state
The following fields are defaults; you do not have to add them:
Submitter
Description fields
Create a Macro
Use the following guidelines to create a macro that submits the schema to the AR
System database.
Use the AR System User Tool.
Hint: The following command opens this tool: /usr/ar/bin/aruser &
Fill out the submitter information.
Define the substitution parameters for the argument fields.
Hint: You define substitution parameters by enclosing the field values with
dollar signs. For example: $parm$. You use the substitution parameters
with the -p option at the aruser command line.
Name the macro DEFINITY_Ticket, or something similar.
