Initializing Ports for Port Based 802.1x

Existing 802.1x port settings are displayed and can be configured using the window below.
Note:
Ensure Port Based 802.1x is enabled under Configuration > Advanced Settings.
Click Port Access Entity > PAE System Control > Initialize Port(s) to open the following window:
This window allows you to initialize a port or group of ports.The Initialize Port Table in the bottom half of the window displays the current status of the
port(s).
This window displays the following information:

Backend State

Description
Choose the Switch ID number of the Switch in the switch stack to be modified.
To Select ports to be initialized.
A read only field indicating a port on the Switch.
The Authenticator PAE State will display one of the following: Initialize, Disconnected, Connecting,, Authenticating,,
Authenticated, Aborting, Held, ForceAuth, ForceUnauth, and N/A.
The Backend Authentication State will display one of the following: Request, Response, Success, Fail, Timeout, Idle,
Initialize, and N/A.
The status of the controlled port can be Authorized, Unauthorized, or N/A.
