Attention: The drives in the computer you are servicing might have been rearranged or the drive startup sequence changed. Be extremely careful during write operations such as copying, saving or formatting. Data or programs can be overwritten if you select an incorrect drive.

    Viewing the test log The test log records data about system failures and other pertinent information. The test log will not contain any information until after the diagnostic program has run. Note: If you already are running the diagnostic programs, begin with step 4. Complete the following steps to view the test log: 1.

    RIMM sizes of 64 MB, 128 MB, 256 MB, and 512 MB are acceptable. RIMM sockets, within each memory channel, can be filled in any order. However, both memory channels must be populated the same. ECC or non-ECC, RAMBUS dynamic random access memory (RDRAM) are supported.

    Management Information Format (MIF) Management Information Format (MIF) is a file used to maintain a list of the system unit serial number along with all serialized components (for example, system board, riser card, memory, and processor). At the time of computer manufacture, the EPROM will be loaded with the serial numbers of the system and all major components.
