If you want to split an existing
paragraph into two paragraphs,
position the insertion point
where you want to split the
paragraphs, and press ENTER.
If there is existing text to the right
of the insertion point, the existing
text moves to accommodate the
inserted text.
Selecting T ext
Y ou can use either the mouse or
the keyboard to select text.
When you want to make changes
such as rewording a sentence or
moving a paragraph, you must
first select the text you want to
change. Selected text appears
highlighted (surrounded by black).
Once the text is selected, you
can manipulate it in many ways.

CODE + LEFT ARROW.
it is already there, to the end of the previous word.

CODE+ RIGHT ARROW.
already there, to the beginning of the next word.

Up one screen.

" To correct as you type:

BACKSPACE

to erase characters to the right of the insertion point.

" To start a new paragraph:

. The insertion point moves to the left margin of the next line.
ENTER
" To insert text:
Place the insertion point where you want to add text and start typing.
Anything you type is inserted into the document at that location.
" To select text with the mouse:
1. Move the mouse pointer to the beginning of the word, line, or
paragraph you want to select.
2. Press and hold the left mouse button and drag the mouse across the text
until what you want is highlighted; then release the mouse button.
OR
Click at the beginning of the text, hold down the
click at the end of the text.
This table shows shortcut methods for selecting text with the mouse:

Selects a word (but not the space after the word)

Selects a line
4 Clicks
Selects a paragraph

Selects the entire document
On the last click, if you continue holding down the mouse button rather
than immediately releasing it, you can drag to select additional words,
lines, or paragraphs at a time.
