parts so that you can edit them
individually.

Arranging Objects

Moving Objects to the Front or Back

Y ou can also use keyboard
shortcuts to move selected
objects to the front or back. Open
the Arrange menu and press F
(as in " F ront") to bring the
selected object to the front; press
B (as in " B ack") to move the
selected object to the back.
T o Pull Forward , press SHIFT +
F.
T o Push Back , press SHIFT + B.
This technique is useful when you
cannot see objects in the layers
of a stack of objects. Y ou can
select an object that is visible and
move it back one layer at a time,
each time revealing the object
that was immediately behind it.

You can also use this feature to save any transformations (skewing,
rotating, scaling, and so on) for a single object. That way, you can protect
against losing these transformations should you later untransform the
object. For more information, see Untransforming Objects" in this chapter.
" To convert objects to a graphic object:
1. Select one or more objects that you want to convert.
2. Choose Convert from the Transform menu. A submenu appears.
3. Choose Convert to Graphic. Drawingconverts selected objects to a single
object.
" To convert from a graphic:
1. Select one or more graphic objects which you want to convert from
graphic.
2. Choose Convert from the Transform menu. A submenu appears.
3. Choose Convert From Graphic. Drawingconverts the selected graphic to
its component objects.
The Arrange menu provides several ways of controlling placement of
objects in your drawing.
Whenever two or more objects overlap, you can choose to send one of
the objects all the way to the back of the others or to bring it to the front.
" To move an object to the front or back:
1. Select the object you want to move to the front or back.
2. From the Arrange menu, choose either Bring to Front or Send to Back.
The objects are rearranged accordingly.
" To "pull" an object forward or "push" it back one layer:
1. Select the object you want to pull forward or push back.
2. From the Arrange menu, choose either Pull Forward or Push Back. The
object is moved accordingly.
